Today

I just watched portions of the democratic debate and I must say that I'm loving me some Hillary!

I'm still sick.

I need to find fun things to do with Aimee since we both have cabin fever.

Just wanted to share this new Weight Watchers recipe that is SO easy and really yummy and very low in calories. Brian said that if we ever have white people over for dinner, we should make this because they would really like this. I think that the Latinos would like this too. He also said that it's one of his new favorites.

Meatloaf Muffins:
(Brian calls them Meat Cupcakes...which I find really annoying but kinda funny).

1 box of stovetop (or other brand) stuffing.
1 lb of lean ground beef or turkey
1 egg or 2 egg whites
1 cup of water.

You can also add one or more of the following to make them bigger and yummier: Canned Mushrooms, grated carrots, diced celery, diced onion.

Combine all of the ingredients listed above, divide into 6 muffin tins (or form a loaf) bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

6 servings = Approx 250 calories each.

Gross...

I developed a nasty cold yesterday. I don't think I can take anything because I'm nursing. I feel disgusting.

Milestones Schmilestones.

My little baby Daniel is offically on a sleeping schedule. That means that he is taking regular naps during the day that last more than an hour, and he is going to bed for the night between 6:30-7:30 pm. It's something that most parents look forward to. It's great to have well rested kids, time to do things at night, and quality time with Brian. However, this is not a celebration post.

Even though I was so sleep deprived and couldn't wait to get him on a sleep schedule, I am so heartbroken that this has finally become a reality. I couldn't put it off any longer though. Daniel was sleep deprived too and he was suffering. Last Saturday, Brian stayed up with him until 3 am. Daniel cried the entire time and I wouldn't be surprised if Brian didn't shed a few tears himself. It had to be done, more for Daniel's sake than mine.

I already miss holding him in my arms all night while he drifted in and out of sleep. I miss looking at his little lips forming a "sleep pout" and feeling his warm little leg draped over my arm. It's the beginning of his independance and I am a little bit devistated.

Cuteness

To balance out the complaining, I thought I'd do a "cuteness" post to let you all know that there are some really adorable moments with both kids.

* Everytime Aimee see's a picture of her uncle Paul, she says, "It's HUNKle Paul!"

* She has made it her job to make sure Remmy (our dog) has water and food in his bowls. If he doesn't, she just picks up his bowl and takes it over to the dog food and fills it up, or brings me his water bowl to refill.

* Daniel is the smiley-est baby I've ever seen. He's rarely fussy, and thinks it's a RIOT when Brian and I pretend that he is punching us. Oh yeah, and he has the cutest laugh of any baby anywhere.

* Aimee loves the class we are taking, and the Sunday School class. She cried for about 30 seconds last Sunday.

* Aimee has gotten into the habit of grabbing me by the hand and leading me to where she wants me to be. Whether it's in the kitchen to make her a snack, or in the living room to watch Elmo with her.

* We are really blessed that Daniel is sleeping through the night. Unfortunately, he must think he's in college or something because he's sleeping from midnight to noon.

I liked this...

My sister Stephanie has this on her blog. I just watched it today and it really touched me so I thought I'd share. I agree with her that the first few minutes of it are pretty "junior high youth group" lame, but I was so glad I watched this.

No joke

Terrible Twos. This will go down as the most trying, exhausting, personal growth producing period of my life.

My home is a battlefield of wills right now. I refuse to lose, but I also refuse to spank. There are days that it takes so much energy to control myself that I can feel a stroke coming on. Yoli hates it when people say, "You'll never really understand until you...." But this is one case where using that term is entirely appropriate. If you are a parent, you know what I mean. If you are not....well...enjoy.

Update

Internet and phone service has been bad this week. That's what happens when you put all of your communication eggs in the Comcast basket.

A major accomplishment today. I took Aimee and Daniel to the Library and the mall (and even Mcdonald's Drivethru) by myself. It was relatively successful. I might even do it again.
